The following benefits regarding avalanches and severe weather will only apply if you have purchased the additional winter sports extension. For full terms and conditions regarding the below information, please make sure you check your Policy Wording.
Direct Travel/AllSafe (Allianz)
Under Direct Travel or AllSafe policies, there is cover available if you cannot participate in a prepaid activity due to your prepaid activity being cancelled by the supplier due to severe weather.*
*Severe weather is defined as: hazardous weather conditions including, but not limited to: windstorms, hurricanes, tornados, fog, hailstorms, rainstorms, snow storms or ice storms.
Bear in mind that this cover only applies before the start of the activity.

Section WS1 - If your ski resort is closed
If you were unable to use the ski resort facilities for more than 24 hours during your trip due to adverse weather conditions, you can submit a claim for consideration. This is provided that you receive written confirmation from the ski resort management confirming that the facilities were closed due to adverse weather conditions, or that it was unsafe to ski or snowboard due to adverse weather conditions.*
*Adverse weather is defined as: too much, or too little snow, high winds, avalanche.
There is cover for avalanche and/or weather delay with the Freespirit winter sports extension. This is if because of an avalanche or severe weather conditions, you are unable to reach or leave your pre-booked resort for 12 hours or more. You can claim for additional transport and accommodation costs which have resulted in a financial loss.
Please note that you are not covered for this section for any costs or alternatives that your tour operator, transport provider, or accommodation provider arranges for you.
Goodtogo (Red Sands)
The ‘avalanche closure’ section of Goodtogo policies covers you for necessary extra travel and accommodation expenses for each full 24 hours that you are delayed from arriving, or departing from, your resort. This is given that you are delayed for a minimum of 24 hours, due to an avalanche, landslide, or landslip.
Note that this cover is not provided if your tour operator has provided extra travel and accommodation for you, or if you have received compensation from someone or somewhere else.
This section is not intended for claims where the snow conditions are known or are public knowledge at the time of effecting this insurance.
