In the event of a medical emergency, you need to call your insurer's 24/7 emergency medical assistance helpline as soon as is feasibly possible. This can be the affected traveller or someone on their behalf.
Those contact numbers can be found here.
We understand that this can be difficult, especially if you are travelling alone or in an emergency situation - if this is the case, someone you are travelling with, or a hospital representative, can do this for you.
You (or your representative), will likely need the following information:
- Your policy number - which is on your Policy Certificate
- Your name, home address, and email address
- Your mobile phone number, and contact number abroad
- The hospital you are attending, and the treating doctor’s details
- The name, address, and contact phone number of your GP
Important information: Failure to contact your medical assistance helpline might result in your claim being rejected, or not being fully paid. You should not attempt to find your own solution, and then expect full reimbursement without their prior approval.
